As you know, we’ve been spending some time in this space introducing you to Florida’s beautiful Treasure Coast and the many communities here that you may wish to consider as your next home. Several of these communities are included in Indian River County, along with possibilities for employment: the county is home to general aviation manufacturer Piper Aircraft and Velocity Aircraft, CVS distribution center, and world-famous Indian River Citrus (a locally harvested fruit sold worldwide).
And it’s a great place to live, with a wide range of real-estate choices, located geographically from Vero Beach to Sebastian… and in all the amazing places in between! Indian River County is listed as one of Sperling’s Best Places to Live: its communities retain a small-town flavor, one that’s not overwhelmed by tourists or retirees.
These are attractive, quiet, and somewhat upscale communities with typical barrier islands, small downtown areas, a few subdivisions and resorts (though not nearly as many as in the rest of the state), and wild marshlands. Retirees, snowbirds, citrus agriculture, and fishing support the area economy. Indian River County comprises 26 miles of unspoiled beaches and a lagoon; its major communities (Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Fellsmere) offer upscale dining and boutique shopping; and the area showcases some of the most breathtaking natural beauty in the US.
Indian River County sits at the edge of Florida’s tropical rainy region, and the climate reflects the location, with warm summers (moderated by the maritime influence) and mild winters.
If you’re considering moving to the area, explore all of the Treasure Coast towns and cities to narrow down your search a little. Your choices won’t necessarily be economic, however: while Vero Beach, for example, has the most real estate priced over a million dollars (and we can help you finance one of these luxury homes with a jumbo mortgage), it also has the least expensive real estate in Indian Rover County! So it’s important to get a feel for each community before you come to see us.
And we are your first stop in your Indian River County home search: getting preapproved, whether it’s for a jumbo mortgage or a more modest one, is the best first step you can take as you prepare to make this decision. In fact, many real estate agents won’t even take you to see listings without a preapproval in hand! Why? Because you may be able to afford less—or more!—than what you think you can afford, and only a trusted financial and mortgage specialist like Avrus Financial and Mortgage can help you determine what’s the best price range for your specific financial needs. We’ve been helping families just like yours plan and purchase their perfect home in Indian River Country for decades, and we can help you.
